• Environmental advocacy

Kathleen McArthur was an innovative advocate for the environment, and her strong leadership in many campaigns led to significant success in the protection of vulnerable areas, notably Cooloola, the Pumicestone Passage and coastal dunes.

The inestimable value of the work by volunteers in such campaigns was fully appreciated by Kathleen, and acknowledged in a 1992 Lunch Hour Theatre script Where has all the country gone?
